Does my donation qualify for a charitable tax receipt?
Yes, it does! The True North Centre for Public Policy is a registered Canadian charity. Donations to True North will receive a charitable tax receipt. To calculate the value of your potential tax credit, visit the Government of Canada’s site here.
I don’t want to donate online. Can I still donate somehow?
Absolutely, yes. You can make a cheque or money order out to The True North Centre for Public Policy and mail it to: 1811 4 Street SW, Suite 485, Calgary, Alberta T2S 1W2.
I didn’t get an emailed receipt after donating.

If you made a one-time donation and use gmail, be sure to check your other tabs – Promotions, Updates, Social, etc. Otherwise, or if you can’t find your receipt there, check your Trash and Spam folders. You can also search your inbox for “Official Donation Tax Receipt”. If you are having trouble, contact us and let us know.
If you make a monthly donation, be advised that we no longer send monthly emailed tax receipts. You will instead get a tax receipt early next year for this year’s donations. If need more information, contact us and let us know.

How can I retrieve tax receipts?
I need my tax receipts in PDF format, not email.
No problem at all. You can always retrieve all your past receipts – including in PDF format – through the donor dashboard. If you are having trouble, contact us.
I’m a monthly donor – how can I change the frequency or amount of my donations?
Please email [email protected] and we will help you. Be sure to email from the account your donations are under, and to have your details (address, etc) handy in order to speed the process along.
Is donating through the True North website secure?
Yes. At no point is your credit card information visible to us, stored on this site, or handled by us directly. We do collect your personal information (name, address) in order to issue your tax receipt.
To process our donations we use Stripe, the industry standard for accepting donations online. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. Stripe uses best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security.
Will you ever give or sell my information to anyone else?
No. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer donor information to outside parties.
How do I become a True North Insider?
Our Insider Club Members are our top supporters who donate at least $10 every month.
